Career Services helps students choose a major, develop career plans, prepare for graduate school, and search for jobs, internships, and job-shadowing opportunities. The office also offers resume and interview support and coordinates career events.
Registration & Records supports registration, academic records, advising, transfer evaluation, and degree completion. The office also helps students, faculty, and staff understand academic policies and services.

The CARE Team coordinates early support when there is concern about a student’s well-being or behavior. The team connects students with appropriate campus resources and intervention.
The Mental Health Counseling Center provides free, confidential short-term counseling for enrolled students, with in-person and telehealth options. Crisis intervention, referrals, and additional online wellness support are also available.
The Fitness Center gives students and employees a comfortable place to exercise. Access is free for enrolled students with a student ID; faculty and staff may use the facility with a membership.
Health Services provides registered students with free, confidential medical evaluations. Some tests, procedures, and medications may have a small fee, and staff can provide off-campus referrals.
Intramurals offers competitive and recreational sports leagues for students of all skill levels throughout the academic year.
New Horizons Crisis Center advocates for, supports, and empowers people impacted by crime. The local outreach number accepts calls and texts; text messages are answered from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Business Services can help students understand bills and payment options, including the Nelnet payment plan. The plan uses scheduled payments and does not charge interest or require a credit check.
Financial Aid coordinates federal, state, and institutional grants, scholarships, student employment, and loans. Staff help students understand and manage the financial-aid process.
The Mustang Card is SMSU’s student ID and connects students to meal plans, Dining Dollars, Mustang Money, campus access, events, and other services.
Emergency grants may help currently enrolled students facing an acute, unexpected short-term financial hardship. Applications are reviewed based on each student’s situation and available funds.

AOS is a TRIO Student Support Services program that provides advising and support for eligible students, including students who are low-income, first-generation, or from underrepresented groups.
The Deeann Griebel Student Success Center offers free walk-in and virtual tutoring in multiple subjects. Trained peer tutors help students strengthen course understanding, study skills, and academic success.
McFarland Library offers research guidance, collections, technology support, study spaces, and online resources. Research guides and many digital resources are available anytime.
The Math Learning Center supports students in mathematics courses through tutoring, study groups, and help with homework questions.
The Mustang Pathway Program is an alternate-entry program that helps students build a pathway toward an SMSU degree. The program meets students where they are and helps them get on track academically.
SMSU students can use Tutor.com for free, on-demand online tutoring, including help with problems and paper review. The service is available through D2L Brightspace.
Success @ Southwest provides holistic coaching and support to eligible first- and second-year students. Monthly coaching helps students navigate academics and college life.
Supplemental Instruction uses trained peer leaders to facilitate study sessions for selected courses. Sessions help students review course content and build effective learning strategies.
The Writing Center offers free in-person and online help with papers at any stage, from choosing a topic and organizing ideas to citation, punctuation, and revision.

Mustang Market is SMSU’s food and resource pantry, offering free food and hygiene products to supplement limited student budgets. Availability and distribution schedules may vary.
Accessibility Services coordinates accommodations for students with disabilities and supports equal access to learning. Students with documented or possible disabilities can contact the office for support, referrals, and resources.
Parent Navigators help parenting students connect with campus and community resources for health coverage, food, housing, child care, transportation, and academic support.
The LGBTQ+ Center offers a welcoming space, community, support, and resources for LGBTQ+ students. The center also helps students explore options when they experience discrimination or bias.
The Technology Resource Center provides help with network setup, software installation, virus removal, operating-system maintenance, limited hardware support, and student software benefits.
